My
speech for the school elections
We all have to admit that
it is high time we selected the appropriate student to be president of our
school. Being the school president is usually considered to be something
trivial and extremely easy. Nevertheless, it is my firm belief that this
position entails a lot of responsibilities and obligations, not to mention that
it has a great impact on our school as well as its reputation. Therefore, it
should be given to someone reliable and dynamic so as to encounter all possible
difficulties. My name is Helen Kiahaki, as many of you already know, and I
would like on these terms to pose my participation to school elections. I am
going now to present to you some of the decisions I will make if I am given the
opportunity to be elected president.
ü To begin with,
I will put a great effort in order to
make the punishments as lenient as possible. In this way, only under serious
circumstances will students be punished. Nevertheless, I would like to stress
out the fact that I am completely opposed to those who support complete
abolishment of punishments as setting an example is something more than
necessary.
ü What is more, I
will try to ameliorate the facilities of our school, including the improvement
of computer labs, the modernization of the library and the maintenance of sport
facilities. All these will be succeeded via fundraising activities I intend to
organize so as to cover our financial needs.
ü As it can be
easily inferred, I will do whatever I am capable of concerning our
entertainment but I would like on this point to refer to my main purpose if
elected which is none other than the
promotion of your opinion. To put it in an other way, if you choose me to be the president of this
school I won’t act as if I was your
governor but on the other hand I will try to serve as a bridge between each and
every one of the students, and the direction. As a consequence, I will give
priority to yours idea and not only mine. I will play the role of your
representative.
To conclude, I
would like to thank you for your valuable attention and I hope that I passed
you the message I initially wanted to. If you believe that I am suitable for
the president’s position,
